Additional information

Born in Lancashire in 1964, Roger moved to London in 1987 and was elected to Waltham Forest Council in 1990. He was the opposition spokesman on audit (1991), housing (1992) and became deputy leader in 1993. He was elected as leader of the Conservative group in 1994.

After 10 years with the Royal Mail, Roger decided to study law full time, being called to The Bar in 1997. He is a member of the Middle Temple and worked as a legal advisor to the IT services company Spring.com until his election to the London Assembly.
